Biography
Nick Knight is one of my favorite photographers mostly because of the fact he's one of Lady Gaga's top choices for any photoshoot. He took all the photos for the Born This Way album. Mr Knight has won numerous awards for his editoral work in VOGUE, DAZED & CONFUSED, W MAGAZINE, i-D, and VISIONAIRE. He's also done fashion and advertisement projects for Christian Dior, Alexander McQueen, Calvin Klein, Levi Strauss, Yohji Yamamoto and Yves Saint Laruent. October 24th, 2006 he was awarded the prestigious Moet Chandon Fashion Tribute for 2006.
Nicki Knight, as a fashion photographer has this amazing eye that captures edgy, bold fashion in artistic surroundings. He spreads and stretched the boundaries of fashion design, lighting, settings, and the portrayal of beauty. Knight’s work has been exhibited at such institutions as the Victoria & Albert Museum, Saatchi Gallery, the Photographers Gallery and Hayward Gallery and recently The Tate Modern. He has produced a permanent installation, Plant Power, for the Natural History Museum in London. He lives with his wife and three children in London.

As you can see, Nick Knight favours the most unique and creative fashion in his photography along with editing to shine some emphasis on whatever helps his vision come across. I find, that in all his photography shoots and fashion projects that he keeps close to bold colors, sharp angles, and almost a 50s theme with lighting.
All of his pieces seem to carry a deep philosophical meaning that no one knows but thousands and thousands of people interpret. Some of them give off the viewing of a brand new world, a post-apocalyptic dystopia. As a professional photographer with a wide recognition across the world and huge shoot budgets, it's impossible for an amateur to re-create his genius. But you have to start somewhere...
